of IN, simply because some Republicans support liberal policies does not mean that they are right (pardon the pun). At least within the Republican party there is a voice for some liberal policies, unlike in the Democrat party, which forced out one of its own simply because he is a hawk on defense issues.
Joe the Troll , you, like the interviewee of this worthless article, are completely clueless. I am conservative, unemployed and do not, repeat, DO NOT, want governmental healthcare. You are completely wrong - the people who want government healthcare, particularly people like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Ariana Huffington, yourself, are rich liberals who are completely fine with using free market economics to enrich themselves, but are more than willing to allow the government to make decisions for the smallfry electorate. Why is it that Democrats somehow believe that the more you give to government it means that you somehow care more? Never mind that Americans, even after being taxed to high heaven, even after suffering through some great tragedies, are still compassionate and willing to give to others. No, I guess that doesn't count because we didn't ask the government for permission to be compassionate.
No, I used to be sympathetic to some Democratic views, especially on the Iraq War, but after I have witnessed the complete lunacy and hatred that you guys possessed on not only Iraq, but everything associated with America, I decided I wanted nothing to do with you.
McCain looks even BETTER
I have always been a democrat - but there is no way that I would ever vote for Obama after everything I have researched on him. He is unelectable and way scarier than W. BUSH ever was.. If McCain didn't vote for Bush in 2000 this makes him tremendously more attractive to democrats like me who don't see his "moderate" ways nearly as scary as B. Hussein Obama and his Marxist, terrorist, America hating friends and family.

Health Care
The people who oppose a health care plan have good jobs with good benefits, and they don't see how that job could be lost (which of course doesn't mean that it can't be). They know that they can get health care, and if someone else can't, well that's just their problem. The fact is, being a Republican today means caring only about yourself. Everyone else, even though they are Americans too, can just go to hell.
I am conservative on a lot of issues, but I just can't make myself be selfish enough to be a Republican because I was raised to believe that other people matter too.
why do we have rules?
So that everyone is treated fairly..........meaning, all are treated the same...
Wait your turn.........don't push in front of someone who has already been in line, you are not more important than the next guy.
Say "please" and "thank you"........politeness demonstrates at least the minimum awareness of respect for others' feelings
Don't throw your cigarette butts in the street......show consideration for other people who will have to look at your trash, consideration for the shared space of a community, it can be a fire hazard and cause loss of life or property....
Look both ways before crossing the street.....make sure that no traffic is coming that might actually hit and kill you, causing you great pain in the process, emotional distress and grief to your loved ones and th poor police officer who has to gather up your broken bloody body, costs related to auto insurance and car repairs of the poor driver you stepped in front of........
Party rules say no primaries before a certain date or no delegates will be allocated.........well, I don't like that rule so I am going to put my name on the ballot because after all, I don't like that rule so why should I follow it, even though every one else is (the wimpy losers).....and it will cause stess and dissent within the party, create hard feelings, demonstrate the depth of your self-centeredness, cost money to rectify, etc.

To add a comment again, Blue Shield in the early 70s came out in support of a national health care policy. In fact, what they supported was similar to Nixon's plans.
HEALTH CARE
UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE IS JUST ONE OF THE BROKEN ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED AND SOON. WHEN THIS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CYCLE STARTED THE TERM "UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM" WAS USED TO DESCRIBE WHAT WE NEED IN THIS COUNTRY. THE ARGUMENT HAS NOW SHIFTED TO WHAT IS NEEDED AS "UNIVERSAL HEALTH INSURANCE". SINCE WHEN IS THE INSERTION OF "INSURANCE" VITAL TO OUR NATIONAL WELL BEING. WHY ARE THEY SO SPECIAL AS TO REQUIRE A MONTHLY TITHE IN THE FORM OF OUR HEALTH CARE DOLLARS. DO OTHER COUNTRIES DO THIS?
WE ALSO NEED TO STRENGTHEN AND RE-FANG THE FTC AND OTHER AGENCIES DECIMATED BY DEREGULATION DEFUNDING. MAYBE WE WOULDN'T BE FACING THE MYRIAD OF THE PROBLEMS CREATED BY GREED RUN AMUCK IN THIS CORPORATE WELFARE ENVIRONMENT.
healthcare NOT mainstream?
This is in response to Ed McGinn of CA.Universal healthcare is desperately needed, and could easily be had if we weren't squandering our treasury in Iraq. You say every other country in the world with universal healthcare is in disarray? Thats a totally false statement, and i bet you've never even been overseas. It's never been enacted because people like you keep believing all the lies you've been fed by the Right. The reason Universal Healthcare is opposed by the Right is they fear losing all the profits they make from Pharmaceutical Company stocks they own.
