We Need CHANGE In Washington

I sure hope Obama wins the primary and general elections.

I shudder at some of the B.S. written by some of you in an attempt to discount him.

When you've lived as long as I have (73 years) and seen the corruption in government increase as I've seen it. And when you've paid taxes as long as I have only to see those dollars wasted. I bet most of you don't even know that seniors pay income tax on their social security? I can't believe the lack of oversight in our governmnent at this point in time. The waste of life and health of our men and women who are in Iraq, for what? I await June 5th;South Dakota's primary so my husband and I can vote for Barack H. Obama. I know a lot of people in SD are waiting to vote for him. I cling to my religion,friends distract themselves by going hunting(or fishing) and we all cling to the freedom to bear arms. Barack's observation is not wrong. He was not putting us down;he just knows what's going on in this country.

Incidently I do not fit the mold of Obama supporters...I am a white,older,rural woman. I did not marry to have someone to take care of me...I was self suporrting,devoting my life to caring for the sick, some of those years spent caring for veterans at a VA hospital. It's Obama stupid! Gore and Carter to END Clinton! Yahoo Elections 2008 site

This will probably happen following the North Carolina Primary, as it so closely follows the one in Pa. Obama WILL be the nominee, OR take the VP spot on the ticket with Gore, regardless of how the Pa. primary turns out!!! He WILL be the WINNER in ALL categories, delegates, popular vote and primaries won, even if Clinton won all of the remaining ten!!! Obama has five locked up!!! He leads her in the national polls, 6%-12%, depending on the poll! Clinton is NOT electable, and EVERYONE KNOWS that, including the democratic party!!! To deny the WINNER, Obama, and bypass him, and give the nomination to the LOSER, Clinton, would completely destroy the party, as they would say it was done because he is black!!!

Gore and Obama might come to an agreement, creating a Gore-Obama ticket, be- cause neither has the required 2024 delegates after Clinton has dropped out? It could well happen! Don't count that out! Either way Obama can NOT be bypassed, or it would cause complete and total chaos!!! Gore and Carter are both for Obama, and EVERYBODY KNOWS that also. It is not whether Obama will be on the ticket, but when!!! That IS a FACT!!! It can't be any other way!!! Good title for the article! It will probably happen just like it is written. All the politically savvy people know this!

Integrity vs. corruptness

I think it matters little who wins the democrat nomination for president if the issue of integrity is not factored into the mix of things.

It matters little whether one is against big government, big business or big labor if the leadership is corrupt as things will stay the same or get worse. The public must be well informed and hold the elected officials at all three levels to a higher standard of integrity and root out the corruptness which leads many to seek positions of power so they can control everything and everybody but themselves.

Government, big business and big labor can do nothing without people and it is their leadership that is either corrupt or has integrity. These three organizations should always work in concert with one another to solve the social, safety, health, educational and economic problems and needs of the people rather than establish themselves as the behemonth of the culture so they can always get "their" way and dominate everything. This union of collaboration among these three institutions is greatly needed to create a culture of compassion where information and service is used to benefit everyone not just the special interests of the corrupt.

Historically, the Civil War was a defining moment in American history as this was a clash over staying agriculturally based or moving to the industrial based economy. The industrial based movement was superior to the agricultual based culture as it spread the wealth to more in the population. I believe we are in a defining moment in history not unlike the time of the Civil War. The agricultural age and the industrial age must make way and be instrumental in bringing the Information and Service age into being so that all can share in the wealth of this great nation.

Those who choose to define other's motives and actions in negative terms only slow this transformation into a new paradigm. What we need is a leader as president with stature who can define the needs of people and create plans to achieve these much needed changes. The culture has evolved to where a new paradigm is waiting to be implemented for the benefit of all citizens. The person to be elected to a leadership postion should indicate a level of integrity which does not rely upon demonizing those who have other ideas but rather bring out the full message in open dialogue. This is the only way to expose corrupt charater flaws such as labeling and miscontsruing another's message.

Of the two demoratic candidates and the republican candidate, my hope is the election process and the debating will reveal the needed integrity in the succesful candidate and expose the corruptness, if any, in the two who are not selected by the electorate. May the primary election in Pennsylvania serve as a part of this winnowing process.

Senator Clinton is judge of what makes an eletist? No i my book. How can she

stand an tell bald-faced lies, dismiss them with a shrug, call on Billy to swear to

them and manufacture excuses for her with out batting an eyelash?

If there is anything this country needs, it is not dishonesty in our next President.

Given that Hillary's mate has a long history of manufacturing untruths and she

seems to be following in his tracks, as an 81-plus year of Democrat, and I say

it is time for a real change in D.C., That is Senator Obama in my book.

Hillary or Obama?

I wish they would stop fighting, before they give away the election itself. I under-stand that the college students and other young people favor Obama. I think a big reason for that is that they equate Hillary Clinton with their mothers. I think that if they have read, or seen the videos of Pastor Wright spewing his venom--damning the USA and blaming our government for everything from 9/11 to deliberately spreading AIDS in the black community, and realize that Obama spent 20 years in that man's church, considers him like an old uncle who says the wrong things sometimes and keeps him as the spiritual advisor for himself, his family and his campaign---IF THEY COULD POSSIBLY VOTE FOR SUCH A PERSON, their ed-ucations have lacked something important. Yes, he is a wonderful speaker--a true orator, who can hypnotize an audience. I cannot believe in him, and hope that he will be recognized as a false idol. I would recommend that everyone read the editorial in last weeks' US News and World Report on the last two pages, by the Editor-in-chief for better information than I can give.

I understand Bill Clinton is fighting hard for his wife, Hillary, so that he can get back into the White House and fool around with more interns.

Obama-national

Obama cannot connect with poor whites because he doesn't believe in buying votes with a promise of a handout. Instead, Obama offers new industrial and technology jobs as well as free enrichment programs that train people to work these jobs. And yes, he will subsidize the income of those in poverty in the meantime. Clinton will simply pacify the poor while they sale her their votes. Obama's comments about the poor being bitter was frank and honest. He does concede that "frustrated" would have been a better word than bitter, but he stands by his statements. Obama is the first democrat who dares speak to us like we're adults. Are you all ready for that?

If the running of your campaign is any indication of how well you will run the goverment. Be very afraid of Hilary. Her campaign can barely pay it's bills and is now in collections.

Interesting point. I am here in missouri and the campuss buzz here is that obama is our choice and he has narrowed his VP choice down to two people: Missouri Senator Claire Mccaskill or Kansa Governor Kathleen Sebellius. We want claire. but either choice negates the Hillary Clinton backlash. </b>

You are DEAD wrong if you thing we Hillary supporters will be appeased by having just any woman on the ticket!! For sure, I don't want Claire McCaskill...she's too much of an opportunist and this is from a Kansan who went across state lines to campaign for her. Not even Gov. Sebilius can replace Hillary!!! Sen. Obama has his work cut out for him because so far he hasn't done anything to earn my vote!! In fact, he has done a really good job overlooking me and taking my vote for granted.
