Fun Facts About Hawaii
• Since Hawaii became a state, Democrats have won every presidential election there except for two. Republican incumbents Nixon and Reagan won respectively in 1972 and 1984.
• A 1968 amendment to the state's Constitution allowed presidential primaries, but neither party has held one.
• Until the 2004 campaign, Hawaii held its Democratic caucuses on Super Tuesday. The 2004 caucus was held in late February, one week prior to Super Tuesday.
