2 Things You Didn't Know about Kansas Caucuses

1. In 2008, Kansas is holding caucuses rather than primaries (the Democrats on February 5, Republicans on February 9). These are funded by the political parties directly, saving the state an estimated $2 million this year. Kansas has held presidential primaries only twice before, in 1980 and 1992.

2. Democratic Party organizers are expecting such a large turnout this Super Tuesday that they have had to move one Lawrence caucus site to a larger building.
