Tours of Duty

My question is an often thought of one, so here goes.

When and why were time limits decided upon for servicemen serving overseas?

During WWII, the men went to whereever they were assigned and didn't come home till the job was done.

For some reason, I believe, it seemed to start during the Korean Conflict, where a servicemember did so many months and came home.

Please clarify this mater for me, so that I can inform others of the correct answer.

comments are stupid

i really dont care about all of this

Your Personna

From here on, when you're walking in the presence of Obama, please get that little-boy squeamish, and suck-up look off your face......you're embarrasing us! Maybe you could contact Colin Powell, for'coaching' assistance.

C'mon now, you're a Big Boy", and you are in charge of all those airplanes! Now, doesn't that make you feel like you really are a man? Remember now, try to look relatively stern, and try not to look like you want Daddy to say..."you're doing a real good job, Bobby.....keep up the good work!"

Letter sent to Robert Gates

Letter was mailed February 15th. Therefore, I hope Mr. Gates will read letter and pursue its content, and it is with this particular entry, I find I am helpless for I find I have nobody that has the authority to pursue.

My letter offers a fantastic answer and can only be satisfied through my terms for I am the inventor and only inventor. It is a shame that I would not be allowed to participate with at least one individual such as the Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates. If I am not recognized as a human being, so be it. God has a plan and He has a job for me to do. God bless you and your people.

Gates = Gateway to pullout

i dont kno what you guys are talking about. Gates is a good leader with visionary ideas, he simply did not want to risk his job by going against what the GOP wanted from him. And it is true that Gates isn't trying to disguise the truth from the people. The Iraq war was a mistake, but it is one that can only be fixed through hard work, not running away.

Robert Gates, U.S. Secretary of Defense". how can you help /?

DEAR SIR WHY YOU ARE HELPING TERRORISTS PRODUCT COUNTRY PAKISTAN THAT DOLLER WHICH YOU ARE GIVIG GEFT FOR PAKISTAN ISI USE FOR SEND TERRORIST EVERY COUNTRY LIKE INDIA .ONLY YOU NO UNDERSTAND THIS ISI WHAT THE ACTIVITY DOING ON HIS LAND MAKE MORE TERRORIST IN THE WORLD AND KILLS INOSENT PEOPLE please DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO PRODUCT THE TERRORIST. THANKS

Is This a Sick Joke?

Gates has continued the wholesale slaughter of the Iraqi people and probably has surpassed Rumsfeld's tenure in terms of violence against the occupied in that country. Instead of publicly telling the country and the world that the Iraq war is too costly, especially during our financial crises, Gates has kept the war on Iraq going, and going and going. Gates is a national disaster in a series of Bush administration disasters.

KEEP GATES

Sec-Def Gates is a decisive leader. He speaks his mind, has an idea of wat it will take to beat our REAL enemies, the ones that hide in P-stan, and the ones who walk around cities like Quetta, with IMPUNITY. Rumsfeld was a disaster, Bush&Co just about ran the military into the ground. We cannot count on some of our NATO "allies" since thier leaders are gutless pogues. The next 18 months will determine whether we can get the upper hand in A-stan. Gates is focused on THIS war, not the next. The need for small, light UAV's needed at platoon level is now being met. Recon teams of 6-8 men need to know what is on the other side of that ridge they need to cross, and the deaths of 4 Navy SEALS could have been prevented. So could the deaths of the 9 Para's from the 173rd, and the French Marines. Gates is pushing hard for the warfighters, people that Cheney&Bush could really care less for. To them, we are just numbers, fighting a war in Iraq, for wat good reason? The truth is coming out, and I want to see Cheney&Rummy in SHACKLES. Dumbya? Well, he's gotta live with himself and his failed, criminal Presidency. Good Riddance. KEEP GATES!!

Proven Leader

Way to go Gates! He has proven his leadership time and time again. He made a lasting impact during his tenure as Texas A&M University President, one that places him among the best Presidents A&M has ever had in it's 132 years.
