Since last summer with the country named Georgia being attacked and then Poland signs an agreement with U.S. rockets Ukraine came up. They aren't part of the United Nations and it seems they were a possible target for Russia. Russia ownes the Oil and Gas in Russia. Do you see the gas cutoff as Russia getting ready to attack them? They are after all demanding more than double the gas rate and after the Georgia incident there was speculation they could be next. If you don't have gas to fuel your war machines to defend yourself that could be a problem. Russia could almost just walk in at that point.
