"now is the time when lasting loyalty is earned" - Pandit, '09
-- In a memo to company employees Monday, Pandit asked workers to remain committed to their clients and customers ahead of what is expected to be a difficult 2009. "Citi needs you to maintain your focus on helping them succeed because now is the time when lasting loyalty is earned," he wrote. --
Mr. Pandit, telling your worker bees what you need from THEM,
as you slash their ranks to offset incompetent risk management by top
Citi officers - whom have been paid by the millions for it - may not be
the most resonant message right now.
And good thing for the crisis, huh? Otherwise, how would Citi ever
achieve lasting loyalty? Normal times, loyalty-build is screwed
apparently.
All the while, keep hammering your customer with ever-escalating,
usury pricing. I'm sure it won't erase all of your other efforts to "win"
the customer...
Of course not. The consumer LIKES his interest rate and OCL fee
increased every 5 seconds. That's not why he's pissed off at you, not
at all. If you just feed him a few platitudes by mail and phone, why -
he'll forget all about that last fee hike!
