New Evidence Contradicts Official Explanation for U.S. Spy Satellite Shoot-Down

Newly released documents show that officials knew a satellite falling towards Earth posed no threat

reguardless how you dress the pig or fool the unknowing. Chris has it right-A LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE!!!!!!!!

weather and eclipse

IF you remeber, there was a lunar eclipse that same night. I live in the Northeast and all weather reports called for heavy clouds for the entire east coast. News of the coming eclipse was minimal. It was as if they didn't want anyone to look into the sky. Anyway, the night sky was as clear as it could ever be. Although the missle was fired near pacific islands, I always wondered what all the lying was about.

hazard was real, mitigation was required

After my own initial doubts, I've come to be persuaded that the hazards from this falling satellite were higher than ever before, in the range of 2 to 4% chance of human casualty, and since international law required active mitigation at levels of a hundredth this high, the missile plan turned out to be best.

In comparison, Russia spent $120 million in 2001 to safely deorbit Mir, and its threat was much less than this one. And oh yes, the hydrazine tank was very likely going to survive entry and reach the ground, despite retreaded skepticism of various people who overlook the significance of it being frozen solid, shielded by other structure halfway down, and tumbling violently all the rest of the way down.

I've posted a set of links to this theme, including to two of my recent articles, at my home page www dot jamesoberg dot com, for idle perusal.

Chris of AZ

You missed the point, the point is that the administration lied again and again. This time it didn't amount to much but one of their biggest lied killed over 4,000 of our brave men and women sent into battle for no good reason through the lies of draft dodging politicians, Bush and Cheney in case you forgot who those politicians are and try to understand why they do not ever tell the truth. What was their point in lying about this issue? Maybe you have some insight since it's obvious if they stopped short it would take a load of axel grease to pull your head out of their derrieres. It's NOT about missle defense it's about the lying.

So what? Whether they were trying to knock a satellite out of the air to protect us from spent fuel or to knock a satellite for kicks, the fact is missile defense is a proven technology several times over. That is the important lesson here.
