Parent and Family Involvement in Education, 2006–07 School Year, From the National Household Education Surveys Program of 2007: The National Center for Education Statistics, part of the Department of Education, announces the first results from its 2007 survey of parents of school-age children. Among the findings: Fifty-nine percent of respondents say they are "very satisfied" with their child's school, and 70 percent of parents with older children anticipate that the students will go on to attain at least a bachelor's degree.

National Health Statistics Reports: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics released several studies that illustrate how Americans seek medical care at doctors' offices and hospitals. One study found that the overall number of visits increased by 26 percent over a 10-year period and that the average waiting time for emergency room care is now 56 minutes.
