Blog Buzz: Special Scott McClellan Memoir Edition
Scotty—Phasers on Stunned
Scott McClellan writing a book blasting his former boss and colleagues? TPM's Josh Marshall didn't see this one coming. TNR's Jason Zengerle says that the book displays a calculating mind (as in calculating how much money can be made) that was rarely on display in the White House press room. But Andrew Sullivan says that the book being a sales-oriented tell-all should not diminish the fact that it's also a serious indictment of the president.
If Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold, What Temperature Is Best for Betrayal?
Hot Air's Ed Morrissey has video of Karl Rove blasting the book on (where else?) Fox. NRO's Andy McCarthy wonders when exactly the long-vilified (and looked-down-on) McClellan became a darling of the Bush critics. NRO colleague Kathryn Jean Lopez wonders why the McClellan book and the Feith book haven't gotten the same treatment. (Maybe because the Feith book was basically predictable whereas McClellan went against expectations? Just thinking out loud here.) Lopez and Seth Leibsohn also wonder if McClellan didn't have an obligation to speak up when, you know, he was still working at the White House? And RedState's Erick notes that he was down on McClellan before it was cool (among conservatives). RedState's Haystack is, umm, less polite.

kudos to scott -whether he spoke up then or now takes time to write a book and he one of the few brave souls -brave enough to speak the truth
Availability of McClellan book
Since I first became aware of this book, I have tried to purchase it. No one has it. Barnes and Noble told me they only received 6-8 copies. Costco and Borders do not have it. It is unavailable at this time on Amazon.
Why??? I have never had this happen before with any book I have tried to purchase.
McClellan has a conscience?
Hmmm... what is a person to do when he or she realizes he or she aided and abetted an aid to the President and an aid to the VP in outing a covert agent then obstructing justice through a calculated campaign of misinformation? Or worse, when that person realizes that the accusations of "selling" a war might actually have substance? and what if one is an agent of that sales campaign? albeit unwitting? and what if such unwitting actions might have contributed in the slightest way to actual death and destruction? Since when did loyalty trump morality? For McClellan, morality won.
