Wow
What a lovely slant to this article.
Has marijuana ever killed anybody?
Has there been reported deaths from marijuana? I hear more people die from a caffeine (heart palpitations) then marijuana. Can you overdose on Marijuana?
try again
you guys should something like this called, "Can my prescription medication kill me? - 10 Questions Adolescents have about Prescription Medication" now that would be interesting.
But is the prohibition worth it?
One thing you can say about NIDA, they'll give you straight up answers! It's a shame no one asked if the benefits of the federal marijuana prohibition outweigh the costs, or whether we could more effectively keep marijuana out of the hands of minors by driving the drug dealers and organized crime out of the marijuana market by legalizing and regulating its sale just like we do with tobacco and alcohol.
The DEA and ONDCP tell our law makers to oppose legalization, and incredibly our legislators listen to them! But who are these organizations anyway? We set them up and and told them to forever oppose the legalization of marijuana, and now that they're doing what we told them we say "the ONDCP and DEA oppose legalization so it must be a bad thing". It's so absurd!

The page they keep referring to, www.marijuana-info.org, is sponsored by the very people who support prohibition. At the very bottom of the page it reads,
"The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the principal biomedical and behavioral research agency of the United States Government. NIH is a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)."
Meaning, it's TAINTED information from the people who work to keep it illegal! Provide a neutral information source and you'll find much different answers.
I'd much rather ingest or vaporize something I know the ingredients of than take a chemical cocktail of a prescription pill.

As a person of the drug abuse family for 25 years that started smoking marijuana for the 1st time in my teens (now 56 years old) I was a product of the environment that was smoking, dropping, snorting, hitting, tolking, dealing and YES
when your peers are doing drugs and dealing you will too. If you think it wont happen to you, WRONG! YOUR A PRODUCT OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT.
There is no spinning the truth. Because of my actions in my early life I lost family, real friends myfuture,3 marriage, children great jobs and opportunities and after 36 years still paying for my past mistakes. You can do what I have done and loose everything or Be all you can be. DONT THROW THE DICE WITH YOUR LIFE.

It's interesting that for the 1st time the gov./health agencies are saying that they are not sure if it is really harmful because before it was sure fact. Unlike cigarettes marijuana does not have chemicals that causes cancer. There has been studies after studies that actually proved the opposite that in fact it stops the growth of tumors and eases pain. Why are we lyning to the teens. Why can't you say that it has its benefits BUT IT'S NOT FOR TEENS.If you are a teenager you do not need to use it,experiment it,have fun with it,get away with it. Just like alcohol it has its place where it's normal use is not harmful at all.
All your lying is going to do is backfire.
Half of the info that these "experts" have provided seem to come directly from the DEA's book on marijuana "facts". The truth of the matter is that whether or not marijuana is good or bad for you, IT SHOULD NOT BE ILLEGAL!! Both alcohol and tobacco are far more addictive and far more dangerous than marijuana. They NEED to be legal in order to be controlled. Does anyone even remember something called...um.....PROHIBITION?? All of these people need to stop worrying about MY health and what I put into MY OWN BODY! The day I hurt somebody ELSE because of my marijuana use is the day you can lock me up. Until then, LEAVE ME AND ALL OTHER MARIJUANA SMOKERS ALONE!!!
Completely Laughable
As a daily cannabis user I'd challenge the answers to all these questions. I'm amazed at the ignorant drug war propaganda that is reported as health news. In a UCLA study researchers found no correlation between cannabis usage and cancer. In another study researchers found that cannabis beats opiates in relieving neuropathic pain. Unlike alcohol, cannabis has never killed anyone by overdose, from cirrhosis, from cancer. It focuses me, it relaxes me, it makes me more compassionate. I believe I am a better person for having found it. Its high time we re-legalize cannabis for both medicinal and recreational purposes.
