BISD, congratulations on being awarded the Broad Prize. Although Morningside is being highlighted, I know that all the schools in Brownsville had a part in securing this great honor. BISD schools such as Morningside and others in the district have received recognized (and even exemplary) status from TEA. In fact, BISD had virtually every elementary receive these ratings which says a lot, not only about the teachers, principals and students, but also about the district administration. Congratulations and my hats off to the entire BISD community including parents and businesses. This prize is well deserved. May you receive many more accolades on your achievements here in BISD.

Congratulations but what about Parent Involvement

This is a great acknowledgement but Morningside has a ways to go in terms of parent invovelment. Parents aren't allowed to volunteer or support the teachers in the classromos. How can we lift and have high expectations of students when the school does not have high expectations of parents.

Wow i love Mrs.Medrano she was my math teacher last year at Morningside. Morningside is indeed the best elementary school in Brownsville Texas. I am now at Lucio Middle School a 6th grader and i learned my very favorite subject last year at Morningside because of Mrs.Medrano. She was the best but because of her i got high scores on my math TAKS and I am doing really great in math at Lucio!!!!!!
