Skyline is the BEST!
I've heard of many magnet schools and i think they're really good, but i don't think any magnet high school compares to Skyline High School. Skyline has many many many bright and intelligent students. Skyline was shown on the front page for having the best Horiculture program in the State of Texas. Also Skyline has excellent Advanced Placement programs. The school offers many extra curiculum programs for the students to get involved with. The school has many clusters that help you get the idea of what career profession they will want to choose. The school offers many things for the students and many of them get involved in things such as the Green Team, National Honors Society, Spanish club,etc. . So in my opinion, I think Skyline High School in Dallas, Tx is the best magnet high school I;ve ever known.

AP tests?!?!?!
Why in the world is it that the only test for high schools seems to be how many AP tests they take?
At the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, a public magnet school in Denton, TX, you simply take college classes on a normal college schedule while living in a dorm at the University of North Texas for two years. You take no high school classes, you take no AP tests, it's basically just starting college two years early.
Yet we're supposed to believe that Thomas Jefferson prepares people for college better by forcing them to take AP exams? Please.
School for Advanced Studies of Miami-Dade
I have been wanting for more information about the Schools for Advanced Studies being offered by Miami-Dade County Public Schools for High School students. I learned that US News and World Reports featured this program sometime in the past. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to read it.
Will someone do me a favor and send me an e-copy of that article to help me with my decision of whether or not sending my son to that program. Thanks.

How about the DATA program in San Antonio, Texas it's based at Roosevelt High School, and is a fantastic program.

The magnet school that is fourth in the nation
On the gold medal list, the fourth school is High Technology High School. That is, in Monmouth County, considered a "magnet school," only we call it a career acadmey. What I am wondering is why it did not make the top magnet schools list, when the number five school did?

Oh, the person from Ben Franklin I
conversed with didn't get to the lessons
of Carl Jung.

Nor did he have a firm understanding of Plato.

But again, the person of Ben Franklin high
had it better for Civics, because they didn't
have the pervert Cicala for a teacher who would
sit all the females with skirts on at the front
of the rows.
Note to Everyone: In Shreveport, Caddo Middle Magnet is the
school to attend for middle school.
Students who go there attend Magnet High
usually.
Coming from a different middle school, one is more
likely to join a group of highly cultivated youths
of wealthier backgrounds here than at loyola
Where at Catholic Loyola, you'll only note the asset
of wealthier backgrounds, enrolling, and producing
highly cultivated individuals is a thing of Catholic Loyola's past.

Conversing with a graduate of Ben Franklin 2000
I noticed that this individual had layman
knowledge comparable to any of my other
Magnet High peers, but what differed was the degree
of truth and the degree of originality there
was in his personal statements as well as
eloquence. Aware that that
usually depends on the individual's will, but perhaps
students at magnet feel the reputation aids them
in confidence in some way. Again
we are only products of our environments and experiences
within those environments.
