California School are rated #that high?!?!

You've got to be kidding?!? We just moved to California from Wyoming & my kids are a grade level ahead of everyone here. The schools here are in total state of disrepair & some of the class sizes are so large, it's ridiculous. It makes you wonder how they ranked these states?!? What did they must have done for California is include wealthy CA schools from Beverly hills because the rest of the states schools are in crisis... just ask anyone who lives here.

MA Schools

We's got the bestest schoos!

We're the best!

Ha. I am from MA. I am proud to say we are much better than everyone. :-D.

Texas

Everything is bigger in Texas, except for these numbers of course!

Hawaii Schools

It is important to note that the rankings list public high schools. Punahou and Iolani are both great schools, with wonderful opportunities. However, both are private schools and thereby not included in this assessment.

Regarding unfair comparisons

It is absolute ludacris that the mentally handicapped should have anything to do with lowering the average score for the US, as most of these said "countries in comparison" (i.e. Western countries)do have the same system for mentally imparied as the US does.

Having lived abroad and thus required this information first hand (and not off some scewed website or whatnot), it is sad that some people actually believe that there is some sort of "world wide conspiracy" against this nation. Some things are just facts, and we are not making ourselves any favor trying to tell ourselves that "it is an unfair comparisons" instead of actually trying to do something about the problem.

Teachers

Who or what teachers make 60-80k a year? I am coming to your state.

Hawaii's outstanding high schools not included!

Hawaii has two of this country's finest high schools: Iolani School and Punahou School. Dr. Sun Yat Sun--often referred to as the Founder of Modern China--attended both schools, and President Obama graduated from Punahou. Both are among the oldest schools west of the Mississippi, and both send very high percentages of students to America's most highly-rated colleges. Yet, neither is mention among the top 100 best high schools. Come on, U.S. News...do you know where Hawaii is?
