Best High Schools: Gold Medal List

I went to Pope High School in Marietta, GA, and looking at the list of top Georgia schools, I have to say that it's kind of a joke. Cobb County has some of the best schools in the country and definitely in the state, including Pope HS, Walton HS, Kell HS and Lassiter HS. (Pope and Walton are usually in competition for the top-ranked state school.) To think that not a single Cobb County school made the list is extremely puzzling, especially considering some of the (frankly) far-inferior Georgia schools that made the cut.

Money

See? Pouring in lots of money doesn't result in better education, we pour alot of money (more than any of these) into the schools where I live and not one of them are on this list!

Wow! Highest academic rating nationwide huh? But, your school won't allow you in the ratings. BS.. That is pure BS. If your grammar and spelling is any indication of your schools prowess in education, then you should rethink that statement. Somehow, I think you're full of it. I have never seen anywhere in Mississippi on the top of ANY list education wise or living wise. In fact the most intolerant and backwards people I have ever met in my life come from Mississippi. I work with many every day, and yes some are from Madison, and they're also all way too proud of your state also. The saddest part about your post though, is the fact that this blog box that we type in on this forum has SPELL CHECK and you can't even use it. Oh, yeah, check your stats, MS has the WORST education in the U.S.

South Texas High School for Health Professions is THE best school in the vally for students going to the medical field! Med High prepares you for college and gives you hands-on experiences at the hospital! Doctors prefer Med High students because we speak the medical language! We should be in the first top 25

best highschool period

I grad from madison central, in madison mississippi class of 05' we have had the highest acedemic rating period nation wide and state for years bout 20plus years but our school want allow us to be in the ratings. Plus Madison, Ms is like one of the top 25 cities to live in. Our talent shouldnt be denied.

I have friends who went to City Honors in Buffalo, NY. They actually ended up scoring too high to make this list for a number of years. US News is definately not making a comprehensive list of the best high schools. They're using certain aspects of the school's standardised testing scores.

I just think that it's funny, the few years that City Honors was #4 on this list, they were down years for the school.

Sussex Technical High School is one of the best in the nation. The offer college classes as well as a technical field for every student. There sports team aare fabulous. I'm sure they were never rated. We are a very small state. You should check into it.

I think that they might be doing primarily public/charter/magnet schools and not private. Lawrenceville School is very good too and is not represented (along with some other fabulous private schools).

Massachusetts should have at least 5 of the top 20, Philips academy and deerfield academy are some of the most prestigious high schols in the us
