Methodology: Best Undergrad Engineering Programs

brand name..?

Guys gimme a clue on how much the name of the university helps us in getting an offer letter after master course completion...if we leave alone top league univ..lets say amongst univs

ranked more than 60..is it logical to say that name of the univ hardly matters.?

Im kinda stuck choosing the univ for my masters :s

Can anybody tell me about the undergrad engineering ranking of Polytechnic University Brooklyn, now renamed as Polytechnic Inst of NYU.

Engineering ranking

I am interested in the engineering program at a university that is not mentioned: Devry University. Forgive me if I missed it, but as I toured the list, I did not see it. From what I have researched, it has a strong and comparable program, and the degree of difficulty is said to be high. But overall, I am looking for a good source to make my final decision. I don't understand how the rankings can be valid if they are merely based on popularity, as was stated in the brief explanation of the basis for the rankings. You might come to know that certain personality types to not sit and blog or share opinions on those popular networking sites. There has to be more to this system of yours. My interest is in the Bio Medical Engineering Program, so, if there is any solid advise that can be stated, please do. Thank you for your consideration.

I want to know about the universities so that I get admission based upon my bachelors aggregate ,GRE score and TOEFL score in US and how i got scholarship from the universities

Engineering College Ranking

It seems anti-engineering to create a ranking of college programs based only on a popularity poll. No measurement - lab size, modernity, accessability, opportunity for internships in research, patents, awards or equipment, Mo measurement of effectiveness: average salary upon graduation, career tracks in 10 or 20 years, patents, acceptance at grad schools. No measurement of teaching quality - number of TA's (that can be understood) teaching classes, internships, size of classes, program selection, availability of professors, additional sections for questions or help, how early students can be involved in research, partnerships with other schools.

And for the typical engineer, not usually a social adept, to have all that they may have accomplished be measured by their ability to network with their peers is counter-intuitive to what engineers do well: measure and apply common sense.

Engineering Ranking for Systems Engineering

How (if at all) are systems engineering majors ranked? Many universities have undergrad and/or graduate systems engineering programs. The United States Air Force Academy's Systems Engineering program has just recieved ABET accreditation (formal report due out any day). The Weapons Systems Acquisition Reform Act of 2009 (signed into law in May) specifically calls out the importance of systems engineering in today's military-industrial complex. This effects DoD and industry in a major way. I think college hopefuls, while researching what they want to study and where, would be very interested in your ranking the systems engineering programs around the country (specifically at the undergraduate level).
