Frequently Asked Questions: Rankings

Rankings by program
I also would like to see rankings by specific programs. I frequently see other colleges claim "Our education program was rated in the top 50 by U.S. News & World Report" or something similar, but I only see specialized lists for engineering and business. How can users compare schools based on their subject of interest?
Computer Science Engineering Ranking (Premium)?
I bought premium online edition, but wondering where can I find university ranking based on a particular field of my interest.
In general I felt navigation system is very bad in premium edition. There is no proper bias between premium and normal editions as the links to normal us news web is available in premium account. Technically speaking about the problem is the creation is a subdomain premium and placing content in it. So I request the administrator to make it easy for future editions at least.
Ignorance is Bliss
Regarding the previous post by Joshua Garner. Too bad he didn't go to Reed, maybe he would have learned how to write and form cohesive thoughts. I too have a physics degree from somewhere other than Reed and live on the East Coast, but poor Joshua evidently doesn't know anything more about the school ("have only driven by") than I do.
I'm sure that no one will find the rankings to their absolute approval. But as the parent of three boys, the oldest of whom is a junior in HS, I find the guides to be extremely helpful as a starting point for collecting information.
Clearly Joshua has some issues with legacies and the Greek system, and hopefully he can find some professional help to deal with those. In the meantime, as therapy, maybe he can start his own national rankings system, get it published, and I'll be glad to read that too. First, he's gotta stop wasting his and our time with mindless posts...
Clinically Retarded
You guys placed Reed college at #67. What a joke. Reed is ranked third of all colleges for precentage of students that obtain a post-grad degree, behind Caltech (ranked 4th in regular colleges) and Harvey Mudd (ranked 14th in Liberal Arts colleges). They have created the second most number of Rhodes Scholars and have the only purely undergraduate nuclear reactor in the country.
Did the college lose points because they don't overly value whose grandfather/father went to the school for the current students? Or was it another academic reason like the missing fraternities/soroties that server more for debauchery and localized feelings of eliteness than anything else?
Either fix your system for evaluating the schools or just stop conducting these surveys. All they point to now is lack of journalistic integrity.
BTW, I have a physics degree from a different college and have only driven by Reed. Reed is merely a fine example of benthic crap titled "America's Best Colleges".
