Schools Crack Down on Boundary Hopping
Sending your child to a school outside the district where you live can lead to arrest or a $5,000 fine

There is only one fair solution: vouchers!
A public school is a public school. Why should I be forced to send my kids to an inferior inner-city school just because I can't afford a home on the other side of the highway? It's ridiculous that parents have no say in where there kids attend school when we all pay taxes. My taxes don't get decreased because my local school has low state test scores.
Schools and boundary hopping...
I think it is a crying shame that people are prosecuted because they want their kids to have a better education but must do it illegally. GIVE THEM A BREAK for GOD-SAKE!!! Rich folks have no problem with this because they can ----well send their kids to any school they want to pay for. Just goes to show us how insipid some so-called laws really are!!! I'm single but am hopping mad to even read about such crap as caring parents being catagorized as felons!!! Just to get their kids a descent education? Come on! You legislators who made this law...how many of you pay for your kids to go to other schools and GET AWAY WITH IY??? HUH???
boundary hopping
This is ridiculous. Those that want to enforce such laws are criminals themselves.
The people of this country needs to get rid of the politicians that keep such laws on the books.
this is rediculous!
its not fair that a child has to go to there zone school if they choose not to. if the school would clean up there act and more funding would be provided for the failing schools then this wouldn't be a problem. there is no reason why we should send our children to schools in which we know is bad, and the school itself says that there bad. my child shouldn't have to suffer because government big wigs wanna shell out millions of dollars to better schools and not the failing ones. this woman should not be arrested for giving her children a proper education and wanting what is best for here children. last time i checked the no child left behind gave us the right to choose what school we can go to without any hassle. now that we are in a resession, the board of ed wants to shake us down for money we don't have! utter disgust!
You've got to be kidding me
Are you serious!!! Justifying lying about your residence is the same as justifying robbing a convenient store because you're hungry and can't afford the food. Different school districts have different resources because taxes in certain areas are different. I grew up in a very mixed community with a very good school district. Our taxes were more than twice those of the neighboring communities, but even the lower income families (mine included) realized that a better education comes at a cost and sacrifices NEED to be made.
THIS COUNTRY HAS A PROBLEM, we have turned from a society of hard working individuals that are willing to make sacrifices and spend a generation of poverty to provide better opportunity to the next generation into a SOCIETY OF ENTITLEMENT. as a US citizen you are entitled to NOTHING more than the opportunity to better yourself and your family. YOU HAVE TO STRUGGLE AND SACRIFICE AND WORK HARD to EARN EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANT IN LIFE. quit complaining and instead stop buying iPhones, playstations, laptops and start walking to the PUBLIC LIBRARY and read a book!!!
School Crack Down
Since the Educators don't seem to be able to provide an equal education to all students in the Public school system, don't blame the students. The whole education system needs to be revamped from pre-school to post PHD using present technology for what is taught and how it is taught. But don't ask educators to do it. They are blind to what is going on in the world that is caused by the lack of education in the world.
Is our present economic problem generated by uneducated people?
This issue is not the lies but the system
First recognize I come from a weathier school district and actual live there but what is sad is no the fact the parents lied to get their kids in the school district, it is that the parent had to lie to get their kids in a decent school. Is it fair because my child's parents happen to make six figures that she should get a better education than someone who happened to be born to parents who make less. The problem is that we need to end this regionalized education system and make education more equally assessable to all kids no matter what their financial status, after all this is supposed to be "public school" My parents were poor but I was fortunate enough to be educated in New Hanover County (NC) Schools where all schools were more forced to be equal and diverse and you could at that time get a equitable education in any New Hanover County School which allowed me to get the eduation I needed to succeed despite who my parents were, we need that to happen everywhere.
America is SICK AND TIRED OF LIARS!!!
This woman represents that which Bill Clinton has taught our country and its upcoming generation: Lie, fudge, misrepresent, deny, and lie again, until its absolute that you are caught, then try to bargain the judgement against you.
I am sick of liars, cheats and parents that think its their job to do anything they can to manipulate the system to their benefit, at the cost of other taxpayers. Send her to Prison!
School Districts
I served on a county board of Edu. for 12 years. In Ca., county boards of edu. are sort of a 'court of last resolve' for parents who wish to transfer their children from one district to another. This is after the parent has gone to their local school board with a petition to transfer, and been denied.
The number one reason stated for changing schools was always quality of education. Examples would include curriculum out of compliance with state regs.,no electives offered, intermittent sports programs (lack of enough bodys to form a team), no heat (or cooling) in building, a graduating class of 1 to 5 students, etc. Parents were ALWAYS told by the local school board the reason for denial, was the money the school would lose when the child left!! Several local board members actually expounded on the fact that the "kids" were there for the school! Not visa-versa. They basically didn't care about the child's education, but rather 'The Money' they'd lose!
We approved every transfer that was ever submitted to the county board of education, and with good reason.
