Madoff

You may have caught this headline to the left of the Swensen article this New Years Eve, "Tufts, Yeshiva, New York Law School, and Harvard Hurt by Madoff." I am not so surprised when I hear of the various super-wealthy grandma's complaining "How could he steal from another Jew?" But really, Tuffs, Harvard, and a bunch of the nations premier "higher education" institutions, places who presumably have their own "Swensen's." Where were their red lights? Who looked at the proposals and said "hmmm, efficient market theory says fund managers cannot out preform the market return, but this guy looks like the real deal to me, I'm all in!"

Yea, that's what I am thinking when I write my congressional delegation and say "burn-baby-burn, no way will I waste another dime to support some uneducated wrench turners retirement with full medical." You can bet he would not do the same for me.

This is the culture we have created. Thank God I do not have children, particularly considering the half-wit president these same people elected who just loves sending them off to needless wars.
