Echoing Sound
I dont own one yet but it think that the echoing sound is because people plug it in to close to an active port, such as audio.

Why hasn't this been mentioned in any of the tv ads? It's very misleading. Some people can not afford internet...what are they supposed to do...don't you think that the people who would benefit most from this 20 dolar a year service are those that need it the most like those on ss and retirement.
Very Please With Magic Jack So Far
I had bought Magic Jack a long time ago but since I only have access to dial up internet could not use it. (I knew that when I bought it). I am now in Paris on vacation and with my laptop and high speed interent here, I just called 5 friends back in the U.S. One was driving in the country and I called his cell phone. He was amazed at the quality of sound. He said, "you sound like you're next door". For me, he sounded extremely clear with good quality sound from my computer speakers. I bought a headset/microphone but tried talking without it and it was fantastic, just sitting in front of the screen talking away. I have received calls too and it's just great. I haved a Windows Vista laptop and if this quality continues, I couldn't be happier. The only negative thing I would say so far is the cumbersom dangling Magic Jack. It can easily break hanging from the computer like that. They should fix that.

This is the Future of Telecommunications guys. Evolution and even Change itself have been met with scrutiny and "Nae-Sayers" all throughout history. Very few people like Change as it can be uncomfortable. I doubt that the very first Automobile to debut, had the ride of our current day Cadillac, but you must understand the fact that the lack of polished roads, refined fuels, etc. had a great deal more to do with the harsh, bumpy ride than the construction of this first Automobile itself did.
Dan Barislow is a genuis and a "God-Send" to us all. I thank him every time that I Send or Receive a call and even more so when I do not receive a bill from "Ma Bell" at the end of each month.

Installed Today- My Sound Is Gone On Computer
Had to do the Vist Upgrade, VOIP was still choppy and even if the mouse so much as moved, I would get an un-godly echo and "rolling" voice like the Wah-Wah sound.
It's packaged and ready for return.
Also, read the TOS- you agree to let the 2 Dan's work their "magic" again in legal spam just like the good-old days at AOL.

The support is not what it should be, I have chatted with them several times to resolve my problem of not being able to make or recieve calls after about four months of use. They say its my phone not their product. Strange I tried a brand new phone and it does not work either.
Along with my fax machine, funny how all my devices quit all at once.One would think that they could at least replace it once after it quits working, I mean it must have cost $5.00 to build this thing.
Oh well its only money just glad I did not sign up for a five year service with them.

Well these reviews were really negative and i just purchased it and currently waiting for it to arrive. I have had AT&T for almost % months and i see no reason to pay 50.00 a month plus high speed internet. the bottom line is the bargain, i hope. If all else fails i can just stick with high speed internet and use my cell phone since i have great reception in my home. I mean josh, people-everyones computer, location and opinion is going to be different, but crawling back to pay AT&t all that money per year is crazy. I have maxed on on the bundles and the gift card rewards/checks, and really dont see myself buyin cable from them. i am tryin to use local broadcast with the converter box and get my bills down, so i guess its all about making tha 50.00 work during the summer on drinks and food and not having to feel qguilty when i can skip paying a month because its free . never had a disconnect notice and AT&T bills a month in advance and you'll never really get ahead

It is close to impossible to get in touch with their customer service. The box is made in poor quality and then it when it inexplicable breaks you are required to buy a new one. Do they think I'm going to fall for that trick again. In addition the service is horrible, I don't know how many times I had to hang up and call again because of the broken record. Don't buy it, it's a big waste of money.
