More Americans go under the knife to move up the corporate ladder—and some say it makes sense

The Beauty business & beauty in business...
Hi, I'm not a surgeon, but since 2006 (as a copywriter working with more than 30 plastic surgeons across the U.S.), I've learned a lot about the business of beauty. So much so, that I created the Guy's Guide to Plastic Surgery for Men (http://www.guysguidetoplasticsurgery.com), as it's my opinion that most surgeons focus their Web sites to the needs of women. Anyway, in my research over the course of the last couple of years, I've read studies (specifically, a London Guildhall University survey) that show:
* men considered handsome are paid 15% more than their less attractive counterparts
* attractive women are paid 11% more than "plain" looking co-workers
So, like it or not, looks matter. Even to babies! Another study showed that a baby will focus longer on a pretty face!
This is so beyond idiotic that words fail me. Stop obsessing with your damn looks, America! Jesus Christ! To go into debt just to look plastic??
And for the record, normal, intelligent people CAN tell what is false on a person and most people still dislike plastic faces and bodies, so chances are it WILL backfire. This is so incredibly retarded and degrading to all humans of any intelligence that I have no more words. If you have the SKILLS, the TALENT and teh EDUCATION, you WILL make it. Try to inspire respect by being a person who deserves it, not through ridiculous hair plugs and porn star chests. How utterly preposterous...
A Bit More Realistic...
For the most part, I disagree with this article. I believe looks do matter - but not in a sense of "let me get $10k in plastic surgery so I can make more money." First, taking care of yourself is key - go to the gym, eat healthy, drink a lot of water. This will make you more attractive in terms of your physical appearance not only because you will be in better shape, but because people will see that you take care of yourself, which is always appealing. Second, make sure you dress for success. Clothes, shoes, hair, and other aspects of grooming are important.
The only type of cosmetic surgery I could condone would be corrective surgery - breast implants for someone who had a mastectomy, corrective dental procedures, etc. Personally, I've had a corrective dental procedure, but I wouldn't consider any other type of cosmetic procedure.
But if you just take better care of yourself, you'll feel more confident and people will treat you better. Cost: maybe a gym fee, and extra in grocery money for the fruits and vegetables, and maybe a few new outfits and new shoes. Far less than the $25-35k pushed in this article.
MHM-Multiple Hormone Manipulation VS. Plastic Surgery
Consider (MHM)-before going under the knife. Bringing all your Vital Hormones Like: Human Growth Hormone, Testosterone, estrogen and Thyroid to youthful levels can "Natureally" makwe you look and act younger!
Tight muscles equal pay raises!
My confidence is soring now that I can't move my eyebrows and my face is oh so tight!
who cares about what you condone?
People should get plastic surgery (psrgy) to become more attractive because attractiveness makes careers (esp. the ones that require much face time) go smoothly as everyone works better together. Doesn't mean intelligence doesn't matter...but looks matters just as much. It's what gets you lots of friends, clients, it's what attracts potential cilents, helps you ingratiate yourself with coworkers. Etc. Don't go overboard like Michael Jackson, but do get some.
