How to Survive your Internship

This has opened my eyes to some of the back sliding I have been doing at my own job. Thank you for this information

Surviving an internship

Having been involved with interns during many of my working years and now mentoring a student from the local university, I really appreciated some of the additional thought processes expressed in this article. I intend to share it with my current mentee (my 8th).

When speaking to summer interns joining our department, I always closed my comment with five questions that I felt each intern should keep in mind and I

have also shared these questions with my mentees. There is some close comparisons, but the article brings out added input that is worthwhile. The five

questions are---

1. What type of work does this company do?

2. What tools are available to get the job done?

3. What are the people like in this organization?

4. What style of management exists in the organization?

5. Do I fit in with this organization? (keep in mind the the company is also

asking do you fit in with their organization?

Thanks for providing the opportunity to submit comments.
