A recall announced yesterday for a common children's vaccine alarmed parents, but officials said there is no need to worry. Drugmaker Merck & Co. recalled doses of a vaccine against Hib, which causes meningitis and pneumonia, and a combination vaccine for Hib and hepatitis B. The doses were recalled after the drug company discovered sterility problems at a Pennsylvania production plant. Merck supplies about half the nation's annual supply of the Hib vaccine.

Forget lead paint and poison dog food, the University of North Carolina is recalling almost 2,000 defective diplomas from alumni who graduated in the spring, the Daily Tar Heel writes. According to their diplomas, students from the College of Arts and Sciences were governed by Madeline Levine, "Dean of the Professional School." Except they're not in the professional school. Actually, there is no professional school. Oops.
